Weather To Get Colder As Another Status Yellow Warning Comes Into Effect Tonight

ANOTHER Status Yellow Low Temperature/Ice warning for Ireland will come into effect tonight.

Met Éireann are predicting hazardous conditions with a sharp to severe frost and icy surfaces, as temperatures widely fall to – 4 degrees Celsius (but it’s unlikely to be as cold as that in the Tralee area). Some freezing fog patches are also likely.

The warning is valid until 12 noon on Friday, but further warnings are sure to be issued after that as days and nights get even colder during the weekend.

Looking locally, temperatures in the Tralee area will fall below zero tonight and into Friday morning. Friday and Saturday will continue to be very cold during the day while nights will get progressively colder, predicted to fall as low as -4 in the early hours of Sunday and remaining below zero during that day.

Kerry County Council’s severe weather assessment team will meet later today to determine their response to the cold snap over the next number of days.
