Sport: Weekend GAA Preview

IT’S all league action this weekend after a disappointing last few weeks in the Club Championship for Tralee area sides.

Saturday, 7pm
County SFL Division 1

Waterville v Kerins O’Rahily’s
The Strand Road side make the trip down south after consolidating their position on top of Division 1 with a win at home against St Micheals Foilmore. They also maintained their unbeaten record in the league.

It was a much needed victory after their very disappointing early exit in the Club Championship at the hands of Legion two weeks ago. The blues face a Waterville side who overcame  Kilcummin away last week, which gave O’Rahilly’s a helping hand in going top.  They may have to tread lightly with this one.

County SFL Division 2

Castleisland Desmonds v John Mitchels
Mitchels will be looking to get their League campaign up and running again after last week’s loss to Skellig Rangers whom they had already knocked out of the Club Championship. They will face Castleisland away who currently lie one place above the Boherbee men in the league table.

County SFL Division 4

Na Gaeil v Beale
This is a top of the table clash with both sides currently on eight points and boasting a 100% record. They will be looking to capitalize on perhaps a dent in Beale’s confidence  after they excited the Club Championship last week.

Sunday, 2:30pm
County SFL Division 2

St Pats v Glenbeigh/Glencar
St Pats are currently struggling in the division with four losses from four games which sees them propping up the table. To make matters worse they will face the second place side Glenbeigh/Glencar in very good form.
