Get used to this again.

IT’S been a few weeks since we had one of these but it was inevitable really.

A Yellow Status Rainfall Warning for Kerry, Wicklow, Donegal, Galway, Mayo and Cork is in effect at the moment and it’s going to last until midnight tonight.

Heavy rain is forecast for  Friday with accumulations over 30 mm likely on higher ground.

The rain will become heavy in the afternoon, especially along the coast and near mountains bringing a risk of localised flooding.

During the evening a gradual clearance will spread from the west. Winds will be strong and gusty southerly, reaching gale force in coastal areas but moderating during the afternoon while veering westerly. Highest temperatures of 9 or 10 degrees.

It’ll be mainly dry tonight and the winds will also die down

Tomorrow, the picture doesn’t look much better as Met Eireann’s forecast for Munster says it will be cloudy and wet as rain will move across the province from the southeast becoming widespread by mid-morning.

The rain will turn persistent and heavy rain across the southern half of the province with a risk of flooding. Highest temperatures of 9 to 11 degrees.

Let’s hope they’re being ‘glass half-empty’ with their forecasts and it won’t turn out as bad as they say.
