IT’S that time of the year again!

An occasion when the great athletes of our time show their talents on Rock Street to decide who take home the ‘Race of Champions’ trophy on this Bank Holiday Monday.

The name has changed from the ‘One Furling Dash’ which has been won for the last two years by Dominic ‘The Bolt’ O’Brien. It takes on a different format this year to provide an even bigger challenge for the competitors.

The organisers in The Castle Bar will be looking for two competitors from The Castle, Linnanes, The Rock Inn, The Greyhound, Kirby’s Brogue Inn, Joes Bar and The Shebeen.

There will be a Spud & Spoon Race, a Drink the Pint and Run and a Three Legged Race. There’s 10pts for Gold 6pts for Silver 3pts for Bronze and the pub with most points total from three races wins a Champagne prize but more importantly, the Race of Champions title

Teams are to meet at 3.30pm outside The Castle Bar with the first race at 4pm. All are invited to come down and watch the fun.
