EARLIER in the week we told you about the South Australia Rose and her connections to the Boherbee area of town (click here for story).
Well James Hogan got in contact with TraleeToday.ie to tell us about Ballymac’s strong link to Sarah Hogan, who will be representing Boston New England in the upcoming competition and her connection to a hit show on Netflix.
He says that Sarah’s dad, Frank is a native of the parish.

“Frank Hogan grew up there played football for Ballymac and later with Austin Stacks,” said James.
“Frank was involved in the car business in Tralee for a number of years having started with Duggans Garage in Ashe Street in the 70s. He emigrated to Boston in the late 80s,” said James.

Sarah is an actress and model who majored in theatre and media studies in the New School University in New York and also studied at the Gaiety Theatre in Dublin.
James says Sarah has had minor roles on several TV shows including ‘Law And Order’ and the hit Netflix show ‘Orange Is The New Black’ (see tweet below).
“A big crowd from Ballymac will be in Sean Óg’s Bar on the Saturday of the festival to cheer her on,” said James.
