THE Windmill will have its sail back within the week.
Work on putting the sails back on the Blennerville landmark began on Wednesday and – weather permitting – the work is expected to take four days.
Last October, the sails were taken down due to being in need of urgent because of storm damaged sustained during the bad storms earlier in the year.

This was the first time that new stocks have been fitted to the windmill since they first went up in 1986.
Since then parts of the sails have undergone specialist work in Cork along a team of workers who have tended to them on site in one of the workshops in Blennerville windmill.
The work is being overseen by Kerry County Council.
They are now back in good nick, due in part to the efforts of Micheal Curran, who has been involved with Blennerville windmill since the mid 1980’s.
“It will nice to have them back up rotating again, a lot of people have been wondering when will they be back up again,” said Micheal.
“How quick they go up will depend on the weather. The sails are 60 feet and thee workers have to travel up 130 feet to put them in place,” said Micheal.
Further restoration work is undergoing to the tower itself, along with upgrading other aspects of one of our most well known landmarks.
