A HAPPY lady left Dublin €500,000 richer this morning after collecting her Euromillions winnings after buying her ticket in Glenflesk last month. Despite playing the draw on Tuesday, March 10,it wasn’t until last week, six weeks after the draw, that she found out she was €500,000 richer.
“I never check my tickets on the night of the draw. I check them when I remember”, smiled the lucky lady from Cork, who wishes to remain private.
“I found the ticket in my press last week and brought it with me to check when I was doing the shopping. When I scanned the ticket it said to contact the National Lottery, so I wasn’t sure what I’d won. I couldn’t believe it when I was told it was half a million!” she said, as she sipped a glass of champagne to celebrate her big win.
Her ticket was a €3 Quick Pick which she bought on 7 March 2015 in the Post Office in Glenflesk, Killarney, Co. Kerry.
“I remember the day I bought that ticket,” she said. “It was a warm day and I fancied a cone. But it was too early in the year to get one, so I bought a EuroMillions ticket instead!”
The happy winner plans to pay the bills and save some money for a rainy day.
