719px-WC-2014-Brasil.svgWELL last night worked out well!

David Luiz  and James Rodriguez both scored at 12/1 and 2/1 respectively, so you would have pocketed a nice few bob if you followed our tips.

Anyway, after last night’s South American dramafest, it’s time for Europe to do battle with Central America.

First up are the Dutch who face a tough Mexican outfit, followed by Greece against surprise package Costa Rica.

Netherlands v Mexico

Both these sides are having very good tournaments and it’s a shame they’re meeting this early on. The Mexicans have proved they can defend well – with veteran Marquez marshalling his charges – and their creativity up front paid off against the Croatians when they won 3-1.

The Dutch though are in a rich vein of form. They have power in all areas and are masters of the counter attack. Robben is on fire and if they get an early goal and the Mexicans press, they could be caught on the break.

That’s why I’m going for a repeat of their game against Chile – 2-0  to the Netherlands where you’ll get 9/1 at Ladbrokes.

Greece v Costa Rica

Whatever happens here, nobody would have predicted one of these sides would have made the quarter-finals. Costa Rica punched above their weight in their group, but not here.

The Greeks are tough, but can be vulnerable when faced with an in-form attacking force like the Central Americans.

This one could go to penalties – where I’d fancy the Greeks – but take a 1-1 draw at full-time at 6/1 in Ladbrokes.
