World Cup Tips: Swiss And Nigerians To Go Through

719px-WC-2014-Brasil.svgALL spots have yet to be decided in today’s games but only Argentina are guaranteed of a place in the next round. Mind you, it would take a massive swing in goal difference to oust France.

Nigeria v Argentina 5pm

The west Africans were dire in their opening round match against Iran, but in true World Cup 2014 fashion flipped that on it’s head with an impressive performance against Bosnia which promptly knocked the Balkan State out.

Had it not been two strokes of genius by Messi in both Argentina’s previous games they could have found themselves in a lot of bother on the final game.

As it stands the South Americans are still not guaranteed of top spot and will want to avoid France in the next round.

Again you’ve got to fancy Argentina for this, despite how much they have spluttered. They still have one of the greatest players of all time within their ranks so take the South Americans to win by two goals at 15/4 in Ladbrokes.

Bosnia and Herzegovina v Iran 5pm

The Bosnians have their bags packed and are ready for the plane but they’ll want to finish on a high.

Iran will be hoping Messi and Co. will do the business in style against Nigeria which would leave them needing a win to qualify.

Tough one to call but we’ll go for a score draw at 4/1 in Ladbrokes.

Honduras v Switzerland 9pm

Switzerland will want to bounce back after their trouncing by the French, so expect them to go all out to beat the Central Americans who don’t look to have enough up front to get a result.

Switzerland need a win to qualify – provided Ecuador don’t beat France – so take them to win by two goals at 18/5 at Ladbrokes.

Ecuador v France 9pm

Ecuador are the only South American country left that haven’t qualified for the last 16 and it looks like that’ll be the case tonight.

France are on fire at the moment scoring eight goals in their two games, but with the group won they may rest some players and take the foot off the pedal.

If France put out a weakened team, take the draw at 3/1 at Betfair because Ecuador will be giving it everything.

A proper French line-up could result in another goalfest though, so take Benzema to score two goals or more at 11/2 in Betfair.

Quite simply, genius. Lionel Messi bags an injury time winner against Iran.
