Young Kerry Performers And Musicians Invited To Take Part In ‘Garageland Galaxyz’

YOUNG musicians and performers from Kerry are invited to take part in a special event as part of Cruinniú na nÓg this summer.

Listowel will host Garageland Galaxyz as part of the day of free creativity for children and young people which will take place on Saturday, June 11.

Kerry County Council are pleased to announce Garageland as one of their key partners. In partnership with Creative Ireland and supported by RTE, Garageland Galaxyz will broadcast on the day from a number of live stages across Ireland. St John’s Theatre Listowel are proud to host the Kerry stage.

Garageland Galaxz will include live music performances from young artists and special guests in a coordinated event which will all stream online alongside music videos and workshops from other young musicians and special guests.

Cllr. Jimmy Moloney, Mayor of Kerry has praised this collaboration. “It will be an opportunity for young people to perform on stage at the renowned St John’s Theatre Listowel. As a talented county it is important that we encourage young people to explore their creativity. I look forward to what will be an exciting Saturday in June.”

In 2021 Garageland at Cruinniú na nÓg supported by RTE created a massive engagement with young musicians throughout Ireland with a staggering online reach of over 600,000. Garageland assisted in creating 108 music videos featuring over 150 young musicians.

Garageland is calling for young performers and musicians aged 12-18 years in Kerry to get involved.
