CAN you believe that KFW is over for another year?
I am personally in some sort of exhausted daze, I am still adjusting to the fact that after months of planning and preparation that the actual event itself is over (it was an amazing event though, so that is helping in the whole shock process).
If you were there, you probably arrived when everyone around you looked like Hollywood movie stars, but what you saw was the finished product.

Myself and the KFW team were there at around ten in the morning and we were then joined by all our amazing models, who rehearsed that perfect catwalk strut for the following few hours.
These kind of mornings on site never look particularly glamorous, but it is probably these kind of mornings where most of the hard work goes in.
Between all the fittings for all of these amazing designers, hair and makeup, rehearsals; and that’s just for the models.
Then you have the judges you have the impossible task of selecting the winners. Then you have people like me and the KFW team, who spend there day running from place to place trying to get everything ready.

And despite the early start, there never seems to be time for a casual stroll from place to place.
This year the KFW Irish Fashion Awards was held in the Europe Hotel, which if I must say, is not too shabby a place to be running around in.
Models were transformed into even more beautiful versions of themselves by the Lancome Paris makeup team and the Sean Taaffe hair team.
As myself and the team ran from place to place, the hours were racing by, coming closer and closer to start time.
The day leading into any event is both the longest and shortest day. You are exhausted by the end of it, but every second of that day was worth it.

When the show itself eventually came around, you could actually taste a mixture of excitement and nerves in the air.
The show was opened by last year’s winner Carol Kennelly, with her stunning new collection. Then we went straight into Helen Cody, Helen Steele and Umit Kutluk.
The finalists show passed in a blur. Honestly, by the end of it, I found myself wandering around asking was it really over.
Of course, it wasn’t really over until around four in the morning for me. I really didn’t want it to end, so I guess I just decided to keep going. Being the sober 16 year old in the corner, is a lot more entertaining than you might think.
The show wouldn’t have been what it was without the amazing Orlagh Winters and Alison Nulty who were both MC’s on the night. The same goes for the mystical voice that you heard during the show, so thank you to Shane Diffily for that.
Congratulations to absolutely everyone involved because we killed it… again.
See you all next year…
