LOVERS of great theatre are really in for a treat this coming week as the renowned local theatre company bring a classic to the stage.

Zyber Theatre presents ‘The Field’ by John B. Keane at Siamsa Tire on Thursday, Friday and Saturday 5th, 6th and 7th of March at 8pm sharp.

This is the first time Zyber has staged the play, which was memorably adapted for the big screen by director Jim Sheridan and featured memorable performances by Richard Harris and John Hurt back in 1990.

The play is set in the small village of Carraigthomond in the South west of Ireland and centres on the character Bull McCabe — played by John Patton — and his love of the land and the conflict that arises when a local farm is put up for sale.
