THE Roses have arrived in Kerry and have already taken in the sights of the Kingdom with a tour of the south of the county today.

The contestants checked into The Meadowlands Hotel last night where they will be based over the next week. They had an early start on Wednesday morning heading off on a bus to the depths of south Kerry.

Their first port of call were the Kerry Cliffs near Portmagee for some spectacular sightseeing. Next up was a stroll on Derrynane beach  before a spot of lunch at O’Carrolls Cove.

Then it was off to Coomakista viewpoint to take in the vista before a spot of sheep racing at An Siopa Dubh at Castlecove where Kildare Rose Catherine Cunningham won a woolly friend.

Then it was on to Sneem for a seaweed bath and boat trip which worked up an appetite for dinner at the Sneem Hotel.

They plan to stop off at Ladies view on the way back to base and will no doubt hit the hay early in anticipation of another tour on Thursday.

Already stocked in SuperValu and Centra following success with the Musgrave Food Academy, the brand has also recently launched in Circle K and aims to be stocked in 2,000 stores across Ireland by the end of the year.

In addition to the creation of jobs that will boost the local community, All Real Nutrition has plans to further its international expansion, beginning a move into the U.S. market.

Speaking on the expansion, Niall Harty, Co-founder of All Real Nutrition, said: “It’s a really exciting time for us here at All Real Nutrition. What began as a simple idea using ingredients from my kitchen cupboard has evolved over four years of perfecting our recipes. With this significant investment, we look forward to not only expanding our product range, but also expanding into new markets. We have dipped our toes in the U.S. market but this is something we really hope to build on over the coming months.”

SOME fencing erected to help protect sand dunes in Banna was vandalised recently.

A group of volunteers from Banna Coastcare gathered back on Monday, July 1, to erect chestnut fencing along the dunes and celebrate World Sand Dune Day.

The purpose was to encourage people to stay off the fragile dune system that is already heavily eroded. Signs were also put in place to help raise awareness about the important role the dunes play in protecting the coastline.

Yesterday, Banna Coastcare discovered some of the fencing — which was supplied by the National Parks and Wildlife Service — had been ripped up and burned in a campfire.

Banna Coastcare expressed their disappointment on their social media accounts at the vandalism. They hope the rest of the fencing will remain intact and they can replace the damaged fencing.

The ‘Tay70’ birthday exhibition will showcase Tayto in an engaging and interactive series of experiences including a ‘reeling in the years’ style showcase of the brand, memorabilia, games and fun activities for all ages on Saturday, August 17 and Sunday August 18 in the town centre.

Tayto is an iconic brand that is synonymous with crisps in Ireland. The brand’s foundation dates back to 1954, when Joe ‘Spud’ Murphy spotted a niche in the Irish market for flavoured crisps and the rest, as they say, is history.
