A CASTLEGREGORY man will take on a running challenge next month over 10,000 miles from his native county in aid of a local cancer support service.

Aron Deane from Castlegregory is to take on the GC50, which is a 50km run in Coolangatta on the southern Gold Coast in Australia, on October 10.

Aron, who emigrated to Australia in 2007, is taking part in the run in aid of Recovery Haven Kerry, Cancer Support House. The service in Killerisk provided great support for Aron’s mother Josephine prior to her passing from cancer back in 2017.

“Recovery Haven supported her during this difficult time. I’m very thankful for the support they offered her and I am delighted to be able to support them in return,” said Aron.
