Austin Stacks recorded their first victory in this year’s County League against their aged old rivals Dr Crokes this Sunday in Connolly Park.
It would be all of eleven minutes before we got the opening score a point from Micheal O’Donnell followed shortly afterwards by points from Jordan Kissane and Ryan O’Driscoll.
Alex Hennigan had Crokes first point Cian McMahon had another after nineteen minutes of play and within a minute Ryan O’Driscoll had a point followed by a goal from Ryan after a pass from Rolo making it a five point game.
Cian Mulcahy and David Fitzmaurice exchanged points on twenty six minutes Ryan O’Driscoll made it a six point game and within a minute Cian McMahon replied with a pointed free.
Stacks finished the half strongly with a Jordan Kissane point and we had the first two pointer of the game from Jordan just before the break.

Ryan O’Driscoll had stacks opening point of the second half followed by 2x2ptf from the boot of Conor Horan.
Colm Browne after a great solo run and Ryan with another point increased the lead to 1-16 to 0-4 with five minutes of the second half gone.
Jack O’Sullivan and Gavin Casey traded points and then we had points from Maidhci Lynch and Cian Mulcahy followed by a Stacks goal from Conor Horan making it a 2-17 to 0-7 after ten minutes.
Then we had 4 in a row scores for Crokes Chris Doncel and a Billy Courtney 1/45 with points and a Cian Mulcahy goal followed by a Mark Fitzgerald point.
What Crokes could do Stacks went one better with five unanswered points from Michael O’Donnell,Colin Griffin,Ryan O’Driscoll,Jack Murphy and sub Conor Myers before Cian McMahon replied for Crokes.

Touhy tonic for Bs in Gneeveguilla

Gneeveguilla 2-9 Austin Stacks 1-18
Alex Touhy marked his senior debut for the Rock with a rolls royce display from start to finish that showcased all his talents in good win for the AS Bs that leaves them three from four in the competition.
Touhy freedom to play from the Kerry U20s was a big addition to a young B side that consisted of an entire half forward line of minor players in Jaden Moriarty, Jake Carmody and Paddy Lucid.
We led at half time 0-11 to 1-3 following a dominant half from midfield pairing of Touhy and Dave Lucid, picked out by the flawless Oliver Lata between the sticks, as well as the solid Luke Chester and Ruairi OConnell at the back.
Bastible duo Cormac and Shane were the focal point of our attack with Cormac in scintillating form with Shane unfortunately withdrawn before half time through injury replaced by captain Gearoid Sheehan also returning from injury.
The of five or six point lead was maintained largely throughout the second half with our backs solid with Jack Doyle and John Murphy in lock down mode in the corners and captain for the day Padraig OHalloran rampaging brilliantly throughout, including setting up Touhy for our decisive goal on 45mins.
With Ben KIchener making a commendable B debut Sean Moynihan contributed in an unaccustomed corner forward role before being replaced by his cousin the impressive Ryan McMahon. Brendan Caball, also returning from injury, played his part when introduced late on.
We travel to Legion next Sunday afternoon for round five against a team also on six points.

Division 7B County League
Austin Stacks C 2-8 Beaufort B 4-12
After the proverbial game of two halves, our C team went down after an exciting game on Friday evening in Connolly Park. Having led 2-8 to 2-6 at the break, we lost control of the game in the second half and Beaufort ran out deserving winners.
However, it was very encouraging for some of our more inexperienced players to get valuable minutes under their belts and Aidan and his management team will be able to look forward to upcoming fixtures with optimism.

Kerry team:
Best of luck to the Kerry seniors in their first outing of the summer against Clare this Saturday and especially our lads involved Armin, Joe, Dylan and Joey.
U21 Football:
Our U21 team will defend their County Championship title with a tricky away trip to play East Kerry on May 14th/21st in the Round of 16.
Well done to club players Paddy Lane, Ronan Carroll and Daniel Kirby who all started in Kerry’s disappointing loss in PUC last Thursday. Next day out home game against Clare in ASP at 7pm on Wednesday.
Minor Football:
Our Minors had a very encouraging 2-13 to 1-6 win against An Ghaeltacht last Tuesday Central League. Next fixture at home to Milltown next Monday at 7pm in the same competition.
Best wishes to manager Marc and his Kerry minor team for the season ahead and in particular our players Danny Lane and Eoin Mangan. They have their first game of the Championship next Monday in Waterford.
