SENIOR FOOTBALL: We have been drawn in Group A of this season’s Club Championship together with Dingle, Kerins O’Rahillys and Killarney Legion. Group B comprises Dr. Crokes, Kenmare Shamrocks, Templenoe and the 2020 Intermediate Football winners which has yet to be decided with Beaufort, Desmonds, Na Gaeil and Spa Killarney still involved in this competition. With each team having to play three rounds each team will have a neutral venue, a home game and an away game.

Round 1 games will be at neutral venues where we play Legion. The round one winners will then have home venue in the second round where they will play the round one loser and they will be away for the third round. In the semi finals the winners of each group will have home advantage when they will play the runners-up in each group. The final will then take place at a neutral venue. No date has yet been fixed as it will depend on Kerry’s progress in the All Ireland series.

CO. LEAGUE: Dingle’s victory in last Sunday’s Division 1 Co. League final was their second win in the 50 years of the competition to add to their first title which they won in 1977. They now join six other Clubs who have won the Division 1 title two times or more. We still head the Roll of Honours with 11 wins followed by Dr. Crokes (10), Laune Rangers (9), Kerins O’Rahillys (5) and Desmonds, Milltown and now Dingle with two each.

Nine more Clubs  have won one title each – Waterville, Kenmare, Spa, Valentia, Annascaul, Legion, Rathmore, St. Marys and An Ghaeltacht.

B FOOTBALL: The date for the Division 5 Co. League final between ourselves and Cordal  is now in jeopardy again. It had been refixed for  Saturday week (21st August) but with the Kerry/Tyrone game now put back to this date our game falls by the wayside.

It may be fixed for the following day (22nd Aug) or it may take place on this coming weekend. As we write nothing has been finalised. Check Club Website for updates.

U20 FOOTBALL: Our round 4 game in this five round Co. League against Laune Rangers did not go ahead as planned last week. No new date has been fixed as we write. In the meantime we are due to play Dr. Crokes in round 5of the competition  in Lewis Road on this Saturday afternoon (14th August) at 4pm.

MINOR FOOTBALL: The Co. League Div. 1 semi final between ourselves and Laune Rangers will take place in Killorglin on next Monday evening (16th Aug) at 7pm. The other Div. 1 semi final, between Glenflesk and Fossa goes ahead at the same time. Extra time and results on the day will apply for both games.

On the field of play on 8th August 2012 our Senior Hurlers defeated St. Pats (East Kerry) by 5-11 to 0-3 to win the South Kerry Novice Final for the second year in a row.
