Ballymac 2-12 Ardfert 1-06.
Our boys commenced their League campaign at home this evening against a very game Ardfert side.
With the strong wind again having an impact on proceedings it was Ballymac who dealt with the worsening conditions better, going two points ahead inside the opening 5 minutes with both Graham West and Eoghan Joy pointing against the wind.
Ardfert got into their stride and responded in kind scoring 1-03 without reply- utilising the wind to great effect. Midfielder Mike Quirke then took the game by the scruff of the neck and scored 1-01 within a two minute stretch.
However, it was Ardfert who finished the half stronger and moved a point ahead at half time. The second half saw Ballymac take control of the game with Cian Gilroy giving an exhibition of high fielding which laid the foundations of a Ballymac victory.
Corner forward Seán Martin scored two delightful points from distance before Eoghan Joy careered in to score Ballymac’s second goal.
Further points by Mike Quirke saw Ballymac see out the game with relative ease. Our defence held resolute throughout with Jamie Tarrant, Fionn Enright and Jackson Brosnan to the fore.
Pádraig Reidy held command at centre back ably assisted by Ray Horgan and Cathal Carr. In attack Shane Cassidy, Seadna O Brien Ryan Burke showed promise throughout.
Keeper Kyron Boyle was solid in goals with his kick outs laying the foundation of our attacks. Subs John Leen Adrian O Connor Eric Quirke and Gearóid Joy all contributed to the win.
Overall, a satisfactory win against a gallant Ardfert side. We must also congratulate both Darragh McMahon and Jack Collins for were selected on the Kerry Minor Panel for this year’s championship. Well deserving for two of our Minor players.
U14 County League – Round 2
Result:
Glenflesk 5-16 Ballymac 5-10
Ballymac played their second game of the County League away to Glenflesk on Tuesday evening in perfect conditions for football.
Both teams showed strong attacking intent from the start, putting each defence under constant pressure. Ballymac were clinical in front of goal during the first half, to give them the edge. At the break, Ballymac led on a scoreline of 5-5 to Glenflesk’s 2-10.
Glenflesk came out strongly in the second half and began to take control across the field. Their improved supply into the forwards, along with a few decisions going their way, helped them build momentum.
To Ballymac’s credit, the team never gave up and showed great determination to fight back. With five minutes remaining, the sides were level and the game was in the balance. However, Glenflesk finished the stronger, adding crucial scores late on to secure the win.
Overall, there are plenty of positives to take from the performance. The team will learn a lot from this defeat and now look ahead to their next game in Churchill next Tuesday.
Lotto
Our lotto took place on Friday, 10th April.
The numbers drawn online were: 1, 6, 21, 29.
There was no winner of the €15,000 Jackpot and no winner of the €500 special prize for three numbers.

Kerry Sports Stars Awards 2025.
The club is extremely proud and privileged to have received two awards last night at the Kerry Sports Stars Awards 2025 held in the wonderful surrounds of the Rose Hotel, Tralee
In what has been a tremendous year for Kerry GAA football, Ballymacelligott GAA Club were awarded the coveted Club of the Year title, generously sponsored by Corcorans Furniture & Carpets. We are very grateful to all involved.

.Another very special presentation was made to the Silles family from Ballymacelligott GAA on behalf of Luke Silles, whose contribution to our club and his school CBS, The Green, along with his family, was recognised with the Unsung Hero award. Again we are very proud of Luke and his family who were honoured in such a meaningful way. This award was kindly sponsored by the Kerry Sports Stars Awards committee themselves.
