Due to popular demand our Couch to 5k has been extended for another 6 week block! Come along on Tuesday evenings at 7pm and join in….at your own pace…in the safety of good company! All ages and abilities welcome.
Senior ladies
Div 2 Donal Curtin County League
Ballymac 5-9 Spa 1-5 .
In what was a top of the table clash played Sunday morning in Ballymacelligott, the girl’s first half performance was statement like . Attacking in waves saw us 2-1 up after six minutes. A breakaway goal by Spa broke our momentum but the girls settled again and pretty much had the game decided by halftime . 5-7 to 1-0 . Goals from Kate Collins 2 , Sarah Scanlon 2 and Rachel Griffen . Points from Cora Savage and Eve Creedon. Jamie Lee O Connor and Aisling O Connell dominated midfield. The second half saw Spa play better with some positional changes , defensively we didn’t concede any goal. This win is an historic day for the ladies senior team as it ensures we play division 1 football next year , swimming with the big fish ! Congrats to Kerry ladies and Roisin Rahilly on their Munster final success today .

Away to Annascaul Castlegregory.
In a top v bottom of the League clash, we travelled to scenic Castlegregory for a game with our old nemesis Annascaul Castlegregory. By the end of the game it really showed the gulf between us with a comprehensive victory attained.
However we did not have it all our own way as AC really put it up to us and never gave up, as they truly fought to the end. Next weekend at home v Spa Killarney at 11am will be an entirely different matter as it is a clash of the Top 2.
A win will go a very long way to securing promotion to Division 1 and a place in the Division 2 League Final.
U12 Boys
Well done to our u12 boys team who played John Mitchels on a beautiful Sunday evening in Ballyseedy .
The boys played fantastic football from start to finish. Thanks to the u10 boys who helped out.
Thanks also to Jack Collins and Darragh McMahon for refereeing on short notice.
U12 Girls
Our u12 Girls made the trip to Cromarty on Wednesday evening to face a very tough Cromane side. We may have been depleted in numbers game but this team make up for it in heart and spirit
After a slow start and a few soft goals conceded, it was fantastic to see such heart and grit from all the girls in what was four quarters of end to end football.
A tough battle from start to finish all over the pitch with Ballymac finishing victorious .
A game filled with some fantastic passages of play, some superb score taking and tigerish defending with no one found wanting for effort and work rate .
All in all a huge credit to all the girls and the hard work they have put in this year to date, with plenty more to come
from this fantastic team
.Minor Final
Kellihers Toyota Central Region Minor Division 1 Final.
Ballymac 3-14 Laune Rangers 3-16.
Not to be for our gallant Minor team last Tuesday evening when Laune Rangers got the better of us in a highly entertaining game which was played at John Mitchels.
Only a fortnight ago did both teams go head to head in the League phase with Laune Rangers easily accounting for our boys. But it was an entirely different story last Tuesday when Ballymac stood up to the challenge and gave a really good account of themselves with a much improved display.
Ballymac began the game in a whirlwind fashion with Micheál Quirke goaling inside the opening minute.
Playing against the wind, our boys played some very intelligent football, holding possession for large parts with the likes of Liam O Rahilly, Cian Gilroy and Adrian O Connor carrying the fight to L Rangers.
The Mid-Kerry side were very accurate from distance, using the wind to great effect and they went in at half time leading 0-13 to 1-08.
The second half saw Ballymac up the tempo with midfield maestro Eoghan Joy and centre back Pádraig Reidy leading the charge.
With the aid of the breeze, our boys landed two huge two pointers to narrow the deficit to 1 point after Laune Rangers scored two goals in quick succession. Sean Martin kicked two fine points from the right and when substitute Ray Horgan scored a goal from long distance, Ballymac had brought themselves back into the game.
L Rangers rallied again to score their third goal of the game and Ballymac immediately responded with full forward Graham West punching the ball to the net.
Two points down heading into injury time Ballymac threw caution to the wind with all out attack but unfortunately were unable to land the equaliser with time eventually running out for our lads.
Credit to L Rangers for a very sporting game and our lads were very gracious in defeat. A well deserved break for the Minor team until late June when the County League will commence.
