Medals galore

Congratulations to Róisín Rahilly on winning a Munster Senior Championship medal, and getting on the score sheet, on Saturday 23rd May, as Kerry beat Waterford in the TG4 Ladies Munster final in Kilmallock.

Well done to Aisling O Keeffe who collected an All Ireland Gold U14 winners medal when Kerry overcame a stern challenge from Down in the final played in St. Brigid’s GAA grounds in Roscommon last Saturday. Aisling gave a wonderful display at full back.

Finally, two more All Ireland medals came our way, thanks to Jack Joy and Máirtin McKivergan, who played their part in a magnificent U20 campaign and victory over superb champions Tyrone in the Dalmatia Hotel Group U20 All Ireland final. It’s been a wonderful year so far for these two young stars.

Backroom staff.

Well done Kerry Hennessy who is the goalkeeping coach in the Kerry Ladies U14 set up and also doubles as an assistant physio for the senior squad. Adam O Keeffe and Vinny Murphy are both heavily involved in Tomás O Sé’s U20 backroom team

U14 Girls

Our U14 girls team took to the field in Ballymac on Sunday afternoon against a gallant Duagh side who made the home team work hard for their victory.

Both teams were depleted and credit is due to Duagh who played the game with only one substitute. Ballymac, also short some of their regulars were bolstered by some of our U12 players, who didn’t at all look out of place with the older girls.

Both teams played fast football. The skill levels and determination from both sides was tremendous to watch. Duagh started with a brace of goals but Ballymac never lost their composure and clawed their way back into the game to lead by three points at the break.

With the breeze at their backs, the Ballymac girls attacked relentlessly but Duagh, to their credit, never surrendered but in the end it was the home team who ran out deserving winners.

Great displays from all the girls who took to the pitch. The mentors were delighted with their attitude and their application in what was a tough fixture.

Senior Ladies

Snr ladies Div 2 Donal Curtin County League.

Ballymac 5-9 Spa 1-5 .

In what was a top of the table clash played Sunday morning in Ballymacelligott, the girl’s first half performance was statement like . Attacking in waves saw us 2-1 up after six minutes.

A breakaway goal by Spa broke our momentum but the girls settled again and pretty much had the game decided by halftime . 5-7 to 1-0 . Goals from Kate Collins 2 , Sarah Scanlon 2 and Rachel Griffen . Points from Cora Savage & Eve Creedon. Jamie Lee O Connor and Aisling O Connell dominated midfield.

The 2nd half saw Spa play better with some positional changes , defensively we didn’t concede any goal.

This win is an historic day for the ladies senior team as it ensures we play Div 1 football next year, swimming with the big fish ! Congrats to Kerry ladies and Roisin Rahilly on their Munster final success.

U12 Girls

On Monday 25th may our u12 girls were at home to Ballyduff .
Looking to improve again on our excellent performance against Cromane, ensued was a one sided and dominant display across all four quarters from our girls.

Playing with the wind for the first two quarters, from the very start Ballymac  were impressive in all positions , keeping immense pressure on Ballyduff , executing turn over after turn over with some fantastic movements, support passing and play culminating in some excellent team scores.

Constantly changing the team up ensuring that everyone played as we were at nearly full strength , you would expect a dip in form into the wind on such a warm night , but true to the character strength of all the girls , they dug deep and showed the work rate and determination that is synonymous with this group to stave practically all Ballyduff attacks and protect their lead.

Excellent result as we are currently three wins from four games and the girls show a passion and hunger to continue their winning ways.

Go Games

The U8’s had their third GoGame of the year away to Firies last Tuesday evening in the sunshine.

Great skills showed by all 30 lads on the night and their hard work in training and at home is really paying off.
