U14 Girls
U14 girls v KOR at Ballyrickyard on Sunday evening in North Kerry League . In a very competitive game that see sawed both ways we lost out on a 5-5 to 6-11 score line .
The score line doesn’t reflect the game really as we actually led by 2 points with 4 mins left . Aisling o Keeffe was outstanding at midfield scoring 1-4 , Jasmine Roche poached 2 nice goals , Katie Anna and Sadie Lynch were busy beavers all game , Sadie Murphy very good at full back as was Aoife Ireland at wing back .
Aobha Bolger , Aimee O Rourke and Aoibheann Joy showed well too .All in all a very encouraging display , Duagh at home in Ballymac next Thursday evening
Senior Ladies
Played in Johnny Culloty Park in Direen Killarney in ideal conditions the senior ladies got off to a good start to the championship with a 5 point win .
We got off to a good start with 1st half goals from Roisin, Rachel Griffen , Rachel Creedon and Kate Collins to leave half time score 4-6 to 1-6 . 2nd half whilst we scored the 1st 2 points of the half from Cora frees , Leigon really came at us in waves .
With Robyn picking up a facial injury Kerry Hennesy stepped in and made a huge contribution to the result going our way .
Leigon scored 3 majors in 2nd half but once we controlled possession we were able to keep score board ticking adding 9 second half points . Final score 4-14 to 4-9 . Spa at home in Ballymac on the 6th September are up next .
U12 Boys
Well done to our u12 boys took part in the Jimmy Roche memorial blitz in Cordal last Saturday.
A brilliant day out and well done to Cordal GAA for organising a very well run Blitz.
U8 Girls – Lee Strand Go Game Blitz
A fantastic evening of football was had on Thursday 20th August as our U8 girls hosted Killcummin, Ballyduff and Milltown/Castlemaine for our Lee Strand Go Games Blitz!
We played four competitive 6-a-side games, with plenty of points, goals, great tackling and, most importantly, lots of fun.
As we come towards the end of the season, it’s brilliant to see the progress all of our girls have made – in their skills, confidence and teamwork. They should all be incredibly proud of themselves!
A huge thank you to Lee Strand, the visiting clubs, our referees and all the volunteers and parents who helped make the evening such a success.
We’ll keep the momentum going with training every Sunday, and we’re always delighted to welcome new players to join the fun!
U16 Girls
Match report
Ballymac U16 girls played their final round county league game against Milltown/Castlemaine on Wednesday 19th August in Ballymac.
A win and we were through to the semi-final, a loss and we were out. Having lost the toss Ballymac ended up playing against a strong breeze in the first half.
Ballymac started well and points by Alice Savage and Holly O’Neill had us ahead early on but, unfortunately, a number of goal chances were spurned.
With ten minutes of the half remaining we were in a good position down by 1-5 to 0-3. We were then awarded a penalty which was missed. Milltown/Castlemaine went up the field and scored a goal.
They scored another goal straight from the kick-out with the score now being 3-5 to 0-3.
Milltown/Castlemaine added another 1-3 in the remaining minutes of the half. Ballymac could only respond with an Alice Savage point leaving the half-time score 4-8 to 0-4.
Ballymac threw everything at the opposition during the 2nd half, attacking in waves. Points by Alice Savage, Aedin Healy and Maeve O’Connell kept the score board ticking over. Goals by Holly O’Neill and Aedin Healy gave Ballymac a new belief.
Although there were further points by Alice Savage and Aedin Healy we couldn’t get the goals we needed to win the game. In the end we ran out of time and were beaten by a scoreline of 4-11 to 2-11.
The management team would like to express their gratitude to the girls for the commitment they gave tonight and all year and commend them on the way they behaved on the football field all year.

U10 Boys
Our u10 boys played two competitive games, away to Desmonds on Weds evening. Thanks to the three u8s, who played up ( and played well! ) to allow it to happen.
