Barrett Cup Final
A fiercely competitive Barrett Cup Final in John Mitchels in front of a large Ballymac crowd saw Ballymac B come up just short against Na Gaeil B, after a contest that stayed competitive from start to finish.
Ballymac started brightly and battled for every ball in a high-intensity opening. A superb goal from Shane McGillycuddy gave Ballymac an important boost, while a brilliant two-pointer from Conor Brick added to the tally as Ballymac took a narrow lead into the break.

The second half brought a major challenge as the wind picked up during the interval and swung firmly in Na Gaeil’s favour, effectively giving them an additional man. Ballymac had to work incredibly hard against the conditions, but continued to compete and find scores.
The second half was played under lights, helping both players and spectators keep on top of a fast-moving, fiercely contested second half. Ballymac never stopped fighting, but Na Gaeil showed composure in the closing stages to see the game out.

A disappointing result, but plenty to be proud of in a performance where the lads competed fiercely for the full game and never gave up.
Congratulations to Na Gaeil B on winning the Barrett Cup.

Castleisland District U14 Shield Final

*Ballymac 5-14 Knock/Brosna 3-7*
A brilliant final performance from our U14 boys in perfect conditions in Castleisland.
From the throw-in it was a dominant display from start to finish. Early points from Dara Leen, Conor Mangan, Scott Fitzmaurice and Jacob Shott got us going, and goals from Daithí O’Connor, Tom O’Neill and Jack O’Connell put us in a commanding position.

The second half was all about the backs. Tadhg Brick was outstanding, with Seán Ireland, Shane O’Connell, Jayden Roche, Micheál Scanlon and Gearóid Jones covering and breaking up play as Knock/Brosna came out and made a real battle of it.
Oisín Priestley in goal was superb – outstanding saves and brilliant decision making. On the counter Seán Culloty and Mikey Brosnan kept Knock/Brosna busy, while Cuan Maguire and Darragh Fealy shut up shop and defended everything.
