Men’s seniors

Ballymac Senior B team

Ballymac Senior B team played their last game of the season on Saturday 1st Oct where they competed in the Tralee/St Brendan’s Group A Junior League Final.

Ballymac B 2 08 John Mitchels B 0 04

The first half proved to be that seen in most finals where scores were hard to come by with both defensives on top but it was Ballymac playing against the breeze who converted the better percentages of their limited chances going in at half time ahead by a low scoring margin of 1 02 to 0 01, Barry Lyons scored our goal with Frank O Rahilly and Michael Herlihy chipping in with a point each.

On the resumption and now with the breeze in our favour Ballymac began to move the ball more effectively and with greater purpose. The introduction of Donal Daly had an immediate impact converting a mark and a forty-five and this followed by our second goal from club stalwart Frank O Rahilly set the wheels in motion for another memorable victory for this great bunch of players. With the game opening up Donal Daly scored two more points and Darragh Broderick getting our last two scores of the game ensured Ballymac would capture their third trophy of the year.

Trophies are a fantastic bonus to this group but the biggest success has to be providing games and valuable playing time to all these players from March to October. Huge credit to the 37 players who were used throughout the year over 3 competitions, many thanks to the management team and to all the travelling supporters for a very successful Senior B campaign.=

Under 9 Boys

Our u 9 Boys travelled to Fitzgerald stadium to take on the locals Dr Crokes in a Go Game Blitz on Saturday morning.

Thankfully the weather remained dry as our boys were really excited about playing in one of Kerry’s Top venues.

We played two games and both Teams were 8 a side.

There was great skill to be seen by all players, from High fielding Block downs and point scoring.

Players played in different positions to enjoy the experience of playing in such a wonderful venue.

Each player can be proud of their performances today, and we hope this day will live long in their memory.

Thanks to all parents for transporting the kids and for giving their support on the day.

Thanks to Maeve o Connell for standing in Goals for us, and to James Ireland for helping to organise the Blitz.

Thanks to DR Crokes for the invitation to play in Fitzgerald Stadium, much appreciated.
