This week’s lotto was conducted online on Friday 14/08/2026 by Mary Kelleher & Maureen O’Shea
The numbers drawn were: 9,26,31 and 36.
There was no winner of the €15,000 jackpot.

U10 Boys
Our u10s participated in a very well organised Fossa blitz last Saturday, playing group games against Na Piarsaigh, Keel, Ardfert, Cordal, and a quarter final against Spa.
Out of 40 competing clubs, we finished the day in the top 8…not a bad days work!
Big thanks to Fossa for hosting and organising.
A great experience for our lads, we look forward to next year.
U16 Girls
Ballymac played Knock/Brosna in the 3rd round of the girls U16 county league on Thursday last in Knocknagoshel.
Ballymac started the game well with two points by Maeve O’Connell and a point by Alice Savage. Knock/Brosna responded with 2-1 leaving Ballymac down by 4 pts. Points by Alice Savage and Maeve O’Connell followed by a goal by Aedin Healy put Ballymac up by a point. A goal by Andrea Greer put Ballymac further ahead.
At this stage we lost our full-back, Grace Kelly, to a knee injury. Knock/Brosna added another 2-2 before the break. Ballymac, with a goal from Aedin Healy and points by Alice Savage and Holly O’Neill left the half time score 3-8 to 4-3 in Ballymac’s favour.
We again started the 2nd half well with a Maeve O’Connell point but every time Ballymac scored, Knock/Brosna responded.
Halfway through the half, with Ballymac leading by 3 points, Holly O’Neill crashed a ball off the underside of the crossbar which seemed to go over the line before bouncing out.
Unfortunately, a goal wasn’t given. Knock/Brosna went straight up the field and scored a goal to equalise. From then on Ballymac’s play became ragged and Knock/Brosna hit us for another 3 goals.
Ballymac scored goals by Holly O’Neill and Aedin Healy. Unfortunately, every time Ballymac got back in the game Knock/Brosna scored a goal.
Our girls fought right to the end but as they say “goals win games” and Knock/Brosna got 8 of them to win 8-7 to 5-12. A lot of improvement needed by our girls in a must-win game against Milltown/Castlemaine next Wednesday in Ballymac.
U14 Boys Central Region Semi-Final
Tuesday 11th August 2026 Away to Dingle
Final Score after Extra Time: *Dingle 3-17 Ballymac 4-11*
What a game of football.
This game had it all, end to end football, level on numerous occasions, great scores on both sides, and the game could have gone either way.
Dingle hit the ground running and led 1-3 to 1pt after 10 minutes. Ballymac responded brilliantly. Tom O’Neill won a penalty and converted, Dara Leen tagged a 2 pointer, and Daithí O’Connor set up Kyle O’Sullivan for a well-taken goal.
*Half-time: Ballymac 2-4 Dingle 2-6*
The second half started well with points from Conor Mangan and Daithí O’Connor, good linkup play by Jack O’Connell and Gearóid Jones. We had a goal disallowed after the advantage was played. Despite our dominance, Dingle kept the scoreboard ticking.
Tadhg Brick then drove home a goal to put us 2 points up with 3 minutes to go. A black card left us down to 14 men, and Dingle clawed it back to a point.
In the last play by referee, Ballymac put the ball out over the sideline, but the sideline was awarded to Dingle and got a free in the next play. They took the free and levelled it: *Full-time: Ballymac 4-8 Dingle 2-14*
*Extra Time*
Still down to 14, the boys showed huge heart. Great anticipation by Cuan Maguire, Sean Ireland and Shane O’Connell we counter attack saw Michael Scanlon set up Daithí O’Connor.
Dingle were awarded a penalty — outstanding double save from Oisín Presley! They scored the resulting 45 and pressure told with another goal.
We were back to 15 men.

At the start of the second period of extra time we were awarded another penalty but couldn’t convert. Legs began to tire and our challenge faded.

We are all incredibly proud of our boys. The way they conducted themselves on the field, the respect they showed the referee and to Dingle, and the fight they showed

Mothers and Others
The 10th of August was a special day for Ballymac Mothers and Others and our club! James Sugrue from Sugrue Designs has come onboard as sponsor and presented the team with a fabulous new set of jerseys and shorts. James and the Sugrue family are long-standing supporters of Ballymac GAA and their ongoing involvement is very much appreciated.
Next up was a home game against Dingle Mothers and Others which was played in a truly sporting manner with some class performances from both sides! Onwards then to the clubrooms where the catering team played a blinder.
A wholesome evening of football, laughter, friendship and food! Bringing it back to basics with our fantastic community of volunteers, supporters and players. Míle Buíochas do gach éinne! Sincere thanks to all involved.
