THERE has been no interest in taking over Ballymullen Post Office and looks possible that it will close permanently, according to An Post.
Following the death of postmistress, Noreen Quirke in May, An Post advertised the contract to take over the office twice, but there have been no applications.
The office closed in June and An Post transferred customers to the main post office on Edward Street, where many have now formally moved their custom.
An Post says it’s a very real possibility that the office in Ballymullen will remain closed permanently, unless someone is found to take up the contract.
