EMPLOYEES of Bon Secours hospital will be raising money for Tralee Rotary Club and getting active when they take on the Tralee Valentines 10 Mile Run Walk organised by Run the Kingdom.

The event is being used primarily as a health initiative for Bon Secours employees and takes place on Valentines Day, Sunday, February 14.

Race entry fee is €30 and the hospital have agreed to pay the entry fee for the first 100 participants from the hospital. So far 110 have signed up.

For those that might need a little helping hand, fitness expert, Wayne Quillinan will help participants prepare for the run/walk with a training plan.

All entrants will receive t-shirts, medals and timing chips.

This Valentines Weekend 10-miler is more than a standalone race. It’s also a valuable training guide for the Kerry’s Eye Tralee International Marathon and Half Marathon usually held 4 weeks after this event.

The 10-mile race takes place over a section of the full and half marathon route beginning at the Tralee Wetlands Centre.
