Photo by Dermot CreanCANCER support charity, Recovery Haven Kerry, is officially calling on cyclists to register for this year’s Ring of Kerry Charity Cycle – and as a special incentive to officially kickstart their campaign, the charity has announced that one lucky participant who signs up for them will win a pre-loved Giant racing bike.
To inspire you to take on this challenge on July 4th, Recovery Haven’s dedicated volunteer Derry Brick is passing on a deeply personal legacy.
He is donating his own pre-loved Giant racing bike – a bike that faithfully carried him through the 170km Ring of Kerry Charity Cycle route on three occasions.

Every person who registers to cycle for Recovery Haven will be automatically entered into a draw to win this special racing bike.
But it must be done before Thursday, June 11th, when the winner will be announced. Registration fees and fundraising from this year’s event will directly fund Recovery Haven’s free cancer support services.
“Conquering the Ring of Kerry is a massive physical challenge, but the steep hills you face on the route are nothing compared to the daily uphill battle of a cancer diagnosis,” explains Marisa Reidy, Recovery Haven’s PR & Marketing Officer.
“Right now, there are patients undergoing treatment who can only dream of having the strength to take on a cycle like this. So, when you register for Recovery Haven, you aren’t just cycling for yourself – you are using your strength to pedal for those who can’t right now.”
Recovery Haven Kerry provides vital therapeutic services, counselling, and emotional support to those affected by cancer. The funds raised from this year’s cycle are critical to ensuring these professional services remain free and accessible to those navigating their toughest challenge.

Once you select “Yes,” you’ll be able to choose Recovery Haven Kerry Cancer support House. Only registrations completed before June 11th can be entered into the bike draw.
