MUSIC lovers are invited to step back through some of pop music’s biggest and most memorable decades as Simply Pop! – 80s to Noughties Hits by Candlelight comes to the Belfry at Ballyseede Castle on Sunday, September 20, at 7.30pm.
The concert features acclaimed singer Sharon Lyons, accompanied by the Kerry Scotia Ensemble, a piano and string ensemble, for a special evening celebrating some of the greatest pop songs from the 1980s through to the noughties and beyond.
Audiences can expect a nostalgic and atmospheric candlelight performance featuring songs by legendary artists including Cher, Take That and the Backstreet Boys, alongside contemporary favourites from artists such as Taylor Swift.
The programme promises a mix of powerful vocals, beautiful piano and string quartet arrangements all set against the unique backdrop of Ballyseede Castle’s Belfry.
Simply Pop! is the latest in a series of sell-out Candlelight Concerts at the Belfry, Ballyseede Castle, which have become popular with audiences looking for a memorable night of live music in an intimate and atmospheric setting.
Sharon and Kerry Scotia Ensemble have had a busy year, having performed with world renowned countertenor Nils Wanderer (fresh from his performance at the MET in New York) at his festival in Germany and at their Curtain Call at the Manor concert in Dublin.
They will be on tour again in October with their Showstoppers concert in the UK.
From the big anthems and power ballads of the 80s, through the chart-topping sounds of the 90s and noughties, to more recent pop favourites, Simply Pop! promises something for everyone.
Tickets (€20) are available through Eventbrite by click here or on the door.
With previous Candlelight Concerts at the Belfry selling out, early booking is recommended for what promises to be another memorable evening at Ballyseede Castle.
