Museum and Tourist Information staff will be delighted to welcome visitors throughout the week.

One of the highlights of this year’s programme is Gowns of Glory, Kerry County Museum’s much-loved exhibition celebrating the spectacular gowns worn by winning Roses over the decades. For the first time, the exhibition will be hosted at The Rose Hotel.

Although the venue has changed, Gowns of Glory remains a Kerry County Museum exhibition, curated by the museum, with museum staff on hand every day from 10am to 7pm to welcome visitors, answer questions and share the fascinating stories behind the dresses and their place in the Festival’s history.

The exhibition also provides an opportunity for visitors to create their own Festival heritage trail.

From The Rose Hotel, it is just a short stroll through Tralee Town Park to Tralee Library’s Rose of Tralee memorabilia exhibition, while along the way visitors can enjoy the Rose Garden and Rose of Tralee statue before continuing to Kerry County Museum.

Education Officer Claudia Kohler said: “August is one of the most exciting times of the year in Tralee, and we’re delighted to welcome everyone to Kerry County Museum with a programme that celebrates both our local heritage and the unique traditions of the Rose of Tralee Festival.”

“By offering free admission and a wide range of activities, we hope people of all ages will discover something new about Kerry’s fascinating history while enjoying everything Festival week has to offer. We are especially excited to bring our Gowns of Glory exhibition to The Rose Hotel this year, creating new opportunities for visitors to experience this much-loved exhibition in the heart of the Festival,” she added.
