NUMEROUS cultural activities will take place in Tralee as part of the national ‘Culture Night’ event on Friday, September 19.
A wide range of free arts events will be made available to the public and will take place over the course of the night.
The official opening of Culture Night Tralee will be made by Mayor of Tralee, Cllr Jim Finucane at Kerry County Museum at 6pm.
Twelve different venues will host events with it all kicking off at 6pm and continuing on until after midnight.
Kerry County Museum will have four different events over the course of the night including a ‘Curators Choice’ exhibition and ‘After Dark at the Museum’. While there you can explore 8,000 years of history backed by the sounds of the Sliabh Mish Comhaltas.
The Fanzini Brothers are taking their ‘Ali Acrobat Show’ to the streets when the hit The Square at 6:30pm. The brothers will be followed by Drum Dance Ireland.
Kerry Film Festival are putting on a Secret Cine Club. The venue will be kept under raps until the last minute while the film won’t be known until the credits roll across the screen.
The ITT will showcase student work from the Creative Media Dept, while in the KDYS Denny Street a young songwriters showcase will take place.
The Kerry School of Music will open its doors to the public and launch the Kerry School of Music Young Musician of the Year Finalists. The whole night will culminate at the Meadowlands Hotel with an evening of traditional music by ‘Trad Softly.’
