€50 million investment in walking and cycling projects in town and villages across the country, has been announced today.
The funding is open to all areas in Kerry for applications through Kerry County Council.
The aim of this funding, which will be administered for the Department of Transport by the National Transport Authority is to support the development of high-quality cycling and walking infrastructure outside of cities.

Funded projects should be accessible, age-friendly and maximise comfort to people of all ages and abilities.
Minister for Education and local Kerry TD Norma Foley said: “Since the onset of Covid-19 we have seen an enormous increase in cycling and walking. This specific funding for 2021 for high quality cycling and pedestrian infrastructure in towns and villages has the potential to greatly enhance our local community facilities.”
