Funding Of €7,500 For Tralee Youth Project

Deputy Arthur Spring welcomed the news of grants for youth projects in Kerry.

A TRALEE youth project has received a capital grant for €7,500 from the Government.

The Minister for Children and Youth Affairs, Dr James O’Reilly, announced that three Kerry youth organisations are to receive capital grants to upgrade their projects.

Tralee, Killarney and Listowel Special Projects for youth are to receive grants for €7,500, €7,500 and €11,040 respectively in order to improve the facilities and equipment available for their work with young people in their communities.

Labour Deputy Arthur Spring welcomed the news. “These grants will permit the up-grading or replacement of equipment and the acquisition of additional equipment to support the running of the project/organisation including IT and multi-media equipment, sport and outdoor pursuit equipment and furniture and kitchen equipment.”

The €7,500 for the Tralee SPY (Special Project for Youth) will be spent on 16 PCS, four Monitors, two laptops, an interactive white board, games consoles x box and play station, music mixer and equipment.
