THE new year will bring a new start for many and if you have a bike then a cycle in early January is the perfect opportunity for exercise and fresh air.
The Jimmy Duffy Memorial Cycle takes place Saturday, January 11th at 11:00am from St. Pat’s GAA Club, Blennerville.
The event is held annually to remember the local musician and keen cyclist. Jimmy was 67 years old when he died as a result of smoke inhalation after fire at his home on Church Street, Blennerville, in January 2010 and a cycle has been held in January for the past number of years in his memory.

The cycle will travel to Castleisland town centre and home followed by deserved refreshments, tea and coffee in Quanes Bar Blennerville.
Unfortunately due to the provision of insurance and ambulance services, a fee of €7 per person to a maximum of €20 per family will be charged on the day.
Registration will commence from 10am. It’s a nonprofit fun cycle led by various pace cars. The celebrations will continue on Saturday night with anniversary Mass in Curraheen at 7:30pm, a music session in Quanes Bar, where food and refreshments will be served.
