A NOVEL night out is planned at Kingdom Greyhound Stadium on Friday, July 17 to raise funds for University Hospital Kerry.
The venue will host a Pub Tug Of War competition featuring teams from bars from the local area with 10 teams already signed up to take part.
It’ll be free entry on the night with kids football games, face painting, bouncy castles and a great raffle for All-Ireland tickets and signed Kerry jerseys among other prizes.

The Tug of War competition will take place between the races and there’s still time for bars to sign up to put a team forward to take part. Contact Thomas Ward on 086-8754421 for details.
The event is being organised by Kingdom Greyhound Stadium and dog owners to help out a great cause.

Cruelty dressed up as philanthropy. Have we learned nothing from the RTE exposé on greyhound abuse in this country? If people wish to donate to worthy causes such as UHK, then do so. We don’t need entertainment at the expense of defenseless animals in the process. We have an abysmal animal welfare record in Ireland, and remain one of only 5 countries who still allow greyhound racing. Do we need to be dragged kicking and screaming into the 21st century?
