THE annual Kerry Hospice Coffee Morning is one of the most important dates in the charity’s calendar tens of thousands are raised every year thanks to the generosity of local people.
This is the 34th year of coffee mornings, taking place countywide and nationwide on Thursday, September 24 and the Hospice is hoping businesses and local residents organise an event for the charity.
Over the past 34 years, more than €48 million has been raised nationwide, supporting hospices and palliative care services in communities right across the country.

It is an incredible achievement, made possible by the generosity of people who open their homes, workplaces, community centres, clubs and businesses and invite others to come together over a cup of coffee.
Kerry Hospice is hugely grateful to everyone who has supported the Coffee Morning over the years and every euro raised in Kerry stays in Kerry, helping them provide and develop vital palliative care services and facilities.
This year is particularly significant for the Kerry Hospice Foundation, with major development works underway at the Palliative Care Unit in Tralee.
A new five-bed facility is well underway, with three beds hopefully opening later this year, alongside upgrades to existing facilities in both the Day Unit and Inpatient Unit.
With an overall investment of €6 million or more, the continued support is absolutely vital. The Hospice was delighted recently to welcome ten former Roses of Tralee to the Palliative Care Unit for their annual visit to support the fundraiser.
