John Mitchels GAA Club News

Well done to Aine Ni Mhurchu from John Mitchels senior ladies who made it past the trials to the next stage of the underdogs.

Former John Mitchels senior player Katelyn O Sullivan also made it to the next round. Well done from Rory Kilgallen and senior ladies team.

Our younger stars trained on a crisp and sunny morning indoors in the Ballyseedy complex.

Our older u7 group were divided up into groups and stations. Ball work and fitness sessions were the focus as each gave their all with robust enthusiasm. As the season nears its conclusion it’s great to see so many still eager to practise.

Following this our younger group trained with a mixture of fun games and ball skills. The coaches were given their homework for the week. Learning the rules of duck duck goose!! The session finished with a game of catch the coach. Well done all.

Best wishes to our injured coaches as they nurse themselves back to full fitness.
Training next week indoors for all in our fantastic indoor facility (new joiners always welcome):
Age: 6/7 years @ 10.15am
Age:  4/5 years @ 11.00am
Until then keep practising and as always please complete the Covid questionnaire.

Another fantastic turn out at the U8s and U10 girls training session on Sunday morning in Ballyseedy. The winter sun was shining again, and the girls were eager to show they had been working hard on the core skills of Gaelic football over the past few weeks.

The session began with a brisk warm up and then it was time to focus on hand passing and communication skills. It’s great to see that the girls have formed in to a very tight group of friends and this is very visible in the way they interact with each other throughout the morning.

The session ended with a very competitive match and no quarter was asked or given. The quality of the football on show was a credit to each of the girls and the improvement since the start of the season is extraordinary.

Excellent performances from Caoimhe, Karolina, Natalia, Ally, Mikela, Emma, Siún , Ava and Millie who was returning after being out injured.
Our Season comes to a close next Sunday morning when we really look forward to the annual Sylvie Mason Blitz.
See everyone at 10 am.
