Friends George Hanley Hall and Jude Raymond visiting Santa in Strand Road with their Moms Niamh and Tonya

Again this year we needed a bit of light in our lives and  a sense of magic to end yet another year that will, for sure, go down in history .

One of the highlights of the year for us in Strand Road always is our annual Juvenile Christmas party ….usually four hours or so of organised but fun chaos!!

Lots of fun every December with a special visit from Daidí na Nollag who meets our girls and boys in our club and community and has a pressie for everyone.

Eden, P.J, Pádraig, Leanne, Neasa and Eddie Walsh with Santa in Strand Road

We haven’t been able to have our usual fantastic fun filled afternoon for the past two years but Santa still made his annual visit in 2020 and again last Sunday afternoon.

Santa welcomed each child individually and listened attentively to each girl and boys Christmas list…. each child’s sweet innocence and excitement are the very excitement of this magical time of year!

Noah, Georgia and Ellie Marie with their Mom and Dad Grace and Ricky O’ Halloran

We may be restricted in our travels but the most important people in our lives didn’t have to travel far to experience the usual heart warming welcome our club evokes.

It was also great to meet some new girls and boys and we look forward to meeting you again in the New Year. We hope that your visit to Santa was a special one, these are forever memories not just for our children but also for us as parents and club people.

Vanessa, Evan, Liam, Kelly Ann and John O’ Connor taking their annual family photo with Santa

A massive thank you to Raivis Rodenbikers who volunteered to take some fab photos on the day and of course to the main man of the season… Santa himself, for calling to us on the busiest week of the year for him.

Thank you to everyone who made a donation to Raivis for his photographs who then donated all collected to our U8 fantastic young lady Lily  Šebestová …. a most wonderful gesture !

What an amazing young girl is Lily! The Holy Family School where Lily Anna is a pupil have a fundraiser ‘ Light Up for Lily.’ You can make a donation if you wish on or pick up a candle in Jimmy’s shop in Strand Road.

We are delighted to announce that we were successful in our Gaelic4Girls application for 2022 and are looking forward to this .

Congrats to Kelly Fitzgerald who has made the U16 Kerry training panel for 2022.

Congratulations also to Katelyn O’ Sullivan… on the Underdogs starting panel for last week’s game v All Ireland Champions Meath!!  Katelyn played football with us as a juvenile and now plays for Ballyhaunis. Katelyn scored a great goal on the day, well done! We’re very proud of you!

To all of our club members and community…a very happy, safe, healthy and peaceful Christmas. Thank you to all of our volunteers for their dedication and hard work throughout the year, especially again this year . Thanks also to each family for the time you make to bring your children to training and watch their games. This means  so much to each girl and boy.
Sit down and relax over the Christmas. Looking forward to seeing everyone again in the New Year!
