Masters Challenge 2026: Champion Crowned
What a finish to a spectacular week at Augusta! While Rory McIlroy made history by successfully defending his green jacket with a final score of -12, the drama was just as intense on the Strand Road leaderboard.
Saturday’s leaders stumbled on a brutal final day, allowing a new pack of challengers to mount a late charge. Congratulations to our 2026 Masters Challenge winner:
🥇 1st Place: Daniel Jokubaitis (-57) — Winner of the €750 first prize!
🥈 2nd Place: Mazie Moran (-56)
🥉 3rd Place: Jennifer Fusco (-55)
Congrats also to Ben Pierce who won the consolation prize.
A sincere thank you to everyone who supported this vital fundraiser for the club. Whether your golfers soared with Rory or fell into the “Carnage Zone” with Bryson and Min Woo, your participation helps drive our club forward.

Condolences: Bernard Lynch
It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we acknowledge the passing of Bernard Lynch. Bernard was a lifelong member and steadfast supporter of the Blues, and brother to our club secretary, Moira Horgan.
Bernard’s presence was felt across all levels of the club over many years, from his days as a player to his dedicated work with the juvenile academy.
He was a true gentleman, an extremely nice person, and was deeply loved by everyone who knew him in Strand Road. We extend our sincerest condolences to Moira and the extended Lynch family at this difficult time. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
.Juvenile Academy & Go Games
Our future stars have been busy this past week:
U12 Boys: A fantastic evening of football for our U12s as they travelled to St Pat’s of Blennerville for their first Go Games of the season. Two matches were played with great skill on display.
U10 Boys: The U10s had their first outing of the year at Churchill, putting in a tremendous effort. The group is now off to Dublin this Sunday to represent the club in the prestigious Kilmacud Crokes festival of football. Best of luck, boys!
Academy Return: Academy training returned to Ballyrickard with a massive turnout across all ages. Fantastic effort by all the coaches and players involved. New members always welcome, please contact us on the club’s social channels or speak to a member of the committee for more information.
