Kerry Cork Health Link Bus Stop Change In Tralee

.

KERRY Cancer Support Group has announced that its Healthlink Cork route bus stop in Tralee will move from McDonald’s at Manor West to Lidl on Castlemaine Road from Tuesday, June 2.

The Healthlink transport service has helped thousands of people across Kerry, West Cork and West Limerick attend vital cancer and medical appointments in Kerry, Cork and Limerick since its launch in 2010.

Following consultation with service users, drivers and management, the organisation decided to relocate the stop due to increasing traffic and safety concerns in Manor West Rathass.

Service Manager Breda Dyland said the service has expanded significantly over the years.

“Our service has grown since its foundation in 2010 and so have our buses. We have gone from a small mini-bus to a midi-coach with 33 seats. Manor West Rathass has become busier over the past sixteen years and we talked with people who were using the service, our driver and we observed the situation over a few months. Mornings were quiet but it is extremely busy in the afternoons when we get back, so we have decided for everyone’s safety that it is best to move the stop.”

She added that the new location at Lidl on Castlemaine Road is better suited to the service because of the extra space available and its convenient position on the route out of town.

Ms Dyland also thanked businesses in Manor West Rathass for their support over the past sixteen years, saying the organisation would miss the community support they received there.
