KERRY County Council’s Community Team, working in partnership with Kerry Library Service, has announced an expanded programme of activities for National Play Day 2026, taking place between July 4-12.
This year’s theme, “Play for All”, celebrates the power of play to foster individual development, development through play within community spaces, and create vibrant, inclusive public spaces amongst the county’s libraries.
Kerry County Council will deliver additional play sessions across the library network, enhancing the already popular Play provision available to children and young people.

Play is a vital part of childhood, and this programme ensures that children and young people across Kerry can enjoy high quality, inclusive play experiences. The additional funding allows us to enhance our library-based play sessions and deliver on our commitments under the Kerry Play & Recreation Policy.” Healthy Ireland County Coordinator, Tanya O’Sullivan.
