CASEMENT Station was a hive of activity on Friday as Tralee-based staff from Kinisla and Kerry Group teamed up with members of Tralee Tidy Towns and Irish Rail to enhance the appearance of the station environs.
Twelve staff based in the Tralee offices of Kinisla and Kerry Group volunteered their time to support planting and litter picking at the site in a series of activities lasting two hours.
Tralee Tidy Towns member Mary Joe Quigley said: “We are delighted with the results of the work at Casement Station with the team from Kinisla and Kerry Group. We got a lot of work done in the two hours, we’re so grateful to everyone who spent the morning with us – they were a pleasure to work with.”

“Corporate volunteering time is a wonderful support for TidyTowns groups like ours, particularly in large urban centres with multiple projects ongoing. We are also grateful to Kerry Group for their recent generous donation to the Tralee Tidy Towns effort and to Irish Rail who funded plants and supplies for the work event today.”

Riain Hallinan, from Kinisla said: “The team from Kinisla and Kerry Group were delighted to support Tralee Tidy Towns in enhancing the surroundings of Casement Station. By helping to improve this important gateway to Tralee, we hope to contribute to a more welcoming and positive first impression for visitors and new arrivals to the town.”
“The incredible work carried out by Tralee Tidy Towns throughout the year makes such a difference to our community and it was a privilege for us to play a small part in supporting their efforts and give something back,” added Riain.
