The delegation highlighted the centre’s vital role as a regional hub for environmental conservation, outdoor learning, and community engagement.

The group—which included representatives from Fáilte Ireland, the National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS), and local climate action group Transition Kerry—convened at the top of the park’s iconic 20-metre viewing and observation tower.
During the visit, the delegation discussed the park’s function as a premier resource for ecological education and biodiversity awareness in the South West.
The event showcased how local communities, educational institutions, and state bodies can collaborate effectively to protect natural heritage and drive meaningful environmental action across County Kerry.
The gathering also underscored a shared commitment among national, local, and academic partners to expand research, sustainable ecotourism, and future environmental initiatives in the region.
