Recycling: A huge thank you to Louis Byrne for allowing Na Gaeil to benefit from the Re-Turn machine at his Spar shop in Oakpark. Bring your empty bottles and cans along to the shop and select the “Donate to Na Gaeil GAA” option at the machine.
Kerry Senior Men: Good luck to Diarmuid O’Connor and the Kerry team in the All-Ireland final v Mayo next Sunday.
Kerry Senior Ladies: Well done to the Kerry Ladies, especially the Na Gaeil players & Mark Bourke, on their impressive win over Dublin in the All-Ireland semi-final last Saturday in Semple Stadium. They will play Galway in the final in Croke Park on Sunday 2nd August.
Kerry u18 Ladies: Good luck to Avril Doyle and the Kerry Ladies minor team who take on Tyrone next Saturday in the All-Ireland Minor B championship final. Throw-in at 2pm in Tullamore.
Fé 6 Buachaillí agus Cailiní: Bhí maidin iontach ag Na Gaeil fé 6 ag cleachtadh na bunscileanna – gréin a fháil ar an liathróid, ciceáil agus smacht ar an liathróid. Na Gaeil abú!
Fé 8 Buachaillí: The U8s group enjoyed a beautiful Sunday morning in Killeen. The group practiced their skills and played two games. The group are travelling to Ardfert on Thursday evening at 6:30pm for Go-Games.
Fé 10 Buachaillí: Our U10s played in Milltown/Castlemaine yesterday in a blitz for Pallative Care Kerry. Our lads played 4 games against Dr. Crokes, Kilcummin, Ardfert & Keel. There was a lot of blood, sweat & tears & we bowed out in the semi-finals. Our lads should be very proud of themselves. Thanks to all the coaches & parents who came to support them.
Senior Ladies: Last Monday night in Killeen our Senior ladies hosted Dr Crokes in the Donal Curtin Cup final. The sides had previously met in the group stages in a game that Na Gaeil won narrowly but unfortunately this time it was the visitors who took home the spoils.
Our girls started the game brightly with points from Meagan Sheehy & Meabh Barry but then Crokes kicked 4 points in a row. Another point from Meabh Barry made it a one-point game. Minutes later a dipping shot from 25 meters from Megan Sheehy deceived the Crokes keeper and Na Gaeil were ahead again.
But the visitors upped the ante in the second quarter and edged it by 2-2 to 1-1 to lead at halftime by 2 points.
The 3rd quarter was nip and tuck again but our girls were left to rue a number of wides as Crokes extended their lead to 3 points by the water break.
A good start to the final quarter saw our girls rewarded with scores from a Kateanne O’Connor free and another from Siena Lucey to leave Na Gaeil trailing by just 1 point with 5 minutes remaining. Unfortunately for us Dr. Crokes found another gear and pulled away to win in the end by 3-14 to 2-10.
Men’s U21 Co. Championship: Congratulations to the St. Brendan’s Board u21 team who are county champions after defeating Mid Kerry last Tuesday night in Fitzgerald Stadium. Na Gaeil had 4 lads on the panel, Peter Doyle who scored an important goal, Seán Barrett, Kevin O’Donoghue and Philip McEneaney. Well done lads!
Na Gaeil Cycle Club/Ar do Rothar!: Cycle each Saturday at 9am from Na Gaeil club. Everyone is welcome to come for a nice friendly cycle.
