SIAMSA Tire was buzzing with activity on Friday night as crowds enjoyed a host of events for all ages during Culture Night.
It was just one of many venues hosting get togethers for the artistic community in town for an annual event which continues to grow.
The highlight in Siamsa was Catherine Young’s, ‘Welcoming the Stranger’, which was a reprise of the performance on Banna Strand during the summer.
There was also an interactive project in their virtual garden in the round gallery, where visitors were encouraged to make their own bee or butterfly to add to the atmosphere.
The National Folk Theatre will be creating moments of folk theatre throughout the building and outside where an excerpt from Fado Fado was performed.
Over in Baile Mhuire Day Care Centre, Tralee Art Group hosted an “Art for Everyone” workshop where the public were invited to create their own works of art. Adults and children used paint and drew using a variety of materials provided by the group to form one large piece of art.
Meanwhile over in the Abbey Inn, the Thursday Night Writers group presented an evening of spoken word, song and poetry with a great atmosphere among those present. There were many other events around town creating a special night of culture in Tralee. Scroll down for photos from the night…
