TRALEE Musical Society’s remarkable new production, ‘The Prince of Egypt – The Musical’, sees its five night run come to an end tonight and what a week it’s been.
The cast has performed sold-out shows since Tuesday and audiences have been raving about the quality of the production and the performances. Director Oliver Hurley said the reaction from audiences has surpassed their expectations.
“Because we had such a special show last year in ‘The Clockmakers Daughter’, which was a big, epic show, so our challenge was do it all again and build on its success,” he said.

“The reaction we’ve been getting from audiences is that last year was phenomenal, but this year we’ve gone above and beyond what they expected, so we’re thrilled,” said Oliver.
“Like ‘The Clockmaker’s Daughter’, it’s an Irish premiere too, so people have come from all over Ireland to see it, especially on the strength of last year’s performances,” he added.

While the ‘The Clockmaker’s Daughter’ enjoyed two sold out runs in April and November, they won’t be bringing back ‘The Prince Of Egypt later in the year.
“We’re celebrating our 40th year of Tralee Musical Society so we’ve already made a plan for a big variety show to mark this milestone in November,” he said.
Audiences all week were taken on a journey through the sands of ancient Egypt in the powerful story of faith, freedom, and destiny, directed Oliver, with Musical Director Michael Young and Choreographer Justin Walsh. Well done to all.
