IT was an emotional evening at St Brendan’s NS in Blennerville on Tuesday as the sixth class pupils bade a fond farewell to their primary schooldays.
Eight years of fun, laughter and learning is coming to a close this week, but there was a chance to look back on it all with families and school staff at their graduation ceremony.
There was a blessing from Fr Tadhg Fitzgerald to start the evening in the school hall, before Principal Robbie O’Connell welcomed everyone. He had some very special words for the class which were junior infants when he came to the school back in 2018.

He spoke of the staff watching on with pride as the pupils developed over the years and wished them well in secondary school and beyond.
The pupils themselves were in fine voice singing Oasis’ ‘Wonderwall’ and The Cranberries ‘Dreams’ and they watched on with amusement at the video montage — put together by Ms Brassil — of their journey through the years.
Afterwards there were refreshments for all and a chance for some final photos of the group together before the next step in their educational journey begins in late August. Scroll down for photos…
