WHILE most GAA summer camps concentrate on either hurling or football, they took a novel approach to proceedings at John Mitchels GAA Club’s complex at Ballyseedy.
Because of the great facilities at the complex, Thomas Kearns, the Games Development Officer at the Club, devised a diverse programme of events for the kids all week.
“We’re doing football, hurling, rounders and handball to encompass all aspects of the GAA. We have the facilities here at the club for all of these and we can rotate the groups from the pitches to the hall inside during the mornings,” he said.
“The kids are really enjoying it as it gives them a mixture of activities. We are a football club, but we have hurlers with Tralee Parnells here too so we can accommodate that here too,” said Thomas. Scroll down for photos…
