AHEAD of the Christmas holidays on Wednesday, Minister for Education and Kerry TD Norma Foley visited three primary schools across Tralee and Farranfore to pay tribute to the dedicated work that staff and students have put in throughout the first term.
The Minister met with staff and students at Blennerville National School and Derryquay National School in Tralee and also Knockaderry National School in Farranfore
Minister Foley said: “I am delighted to be able to meet with our school communities before they take their much deserved Christmas break. It is always a joy to experience the fun, festivities and magic created by schools across the country at this time of year.

“A sincere word of thanks to all staff across the education sector who have shown enormous resilience, heart and dedication during this past school year, as they continue to serve the children and young people in our care,” added the Minister.
On her visit to Derryquay NS, Minister Foley saw the old roll book where her father Denis’s name was featured as he was a pupil there back in the 1940s. Scroll down for photos…
