OVER 150 people attended Tralee Credit Union’s prize giving event dedicated to young people on Friday night in Manor West Hotel.
Presentations were made to students from primary, secondary and third level for Tralee Credit Union’s Annual Art Competition, their Education and Dan Kellegher Memorial Awards and Schools Credit Union in Mercy Mounthawk Secondary School, Tralee and Presentation Secondary School in Castleisland.
“Prizegiving Night is a great night for our winners and their families and is testimony of the commitment students, parents, teachers and schools give to the support of our youth activities,” said Fintan Ryan, CEO, Tralee Credit Union.

“This year we received over 500 entries to the Credit Union Art Competition so it was an opportunity to display and showcase the work of our talented art competition winners. All 1st prize winners will now go on to represent Tralee Credit Union at Chapter 23 (regional level) of the competition,” he said.
“Having received a great response to our education awards, a total of €10,500 were awarded to this year’s winners and Margaret Kellegher, daughter of the late Dan Kellegher presented cheques to our Dan Kellegher Memorial Award Winners.
A special acknowledgement was also made on the night to last year’s Transition Years in Mercy Mounthawk Secondary School and Presentation Secondary School Castleisland for their commitment in running their own school’s credit unions,” he said.
