Photos: So Tralee, How You Looking For The Entente Florale Judges?

Posted by

JUST one day to go until the group of judges give us the once over for our bid to become champion of Europe in the Entente Florale 2014.

The international Tidy Towns Competition aims to promote a greener and more pleasant environment in European towns and villages.

With this in mind, took a drive along part of the route they’ll take and took a few photos of places that are looking particularly well.

The judges arrive on Wednesday but judging will take place on Thursday July 31 after a welcome event in The Square.

They can visit any part of the town but the prescribed judging route is the Castleisland approach, Manor West Retail Park, Killerisk Road, Manor Village, Castlemorris, Ballymullen, Clonmore Road, Dean’s Lane, Tobar Naofa, Moyderwell Primary School, Moyderwell/Boherbee, Upper Castle Street, St John’s Avenue, Town Park, Denny Street, Lower Castle Street, Ashe Street, The Mall, Bridge Street, The Square, Dominic Street, Denny Lane, Kerry County Museum, Siamsa Tíre Theatre, Ivy Terrace, Princes Quay, Blennerville, Ballyard Road, Tralee Bay Wetlands, Dan Spring Road, Ballymullen, Killerisk Road and Rathass.

Let’s make sure we’re in with a fighting chance by keeping the town looking its best over the next few days!

Scroll down for photos…

The front of the Manor West Hotel in Rathass is looking very pretty at the moment.

There’s some lovely flower beds on the Killerisk Road/Manor area.

The people in the Ballymullen/Castlemorris area have put in a great effort.

The Paddy Paul Fitzgerald is all colour for the judges.

Hats off to the people in the old Town Council Offices on Princes Street. We’ve never seen it looking better.

More flowers along Princes Street which should please the judges.

Jasmine Boutique has gone all out with their effort.

The Brogue has its baskets out and the island of flowers looks beautiful.

The Snackery, Daily Grind and That’s Perfect made the effort too.

Der O’Sullivan’s gets into the spirit of things.

The flower beds are in place on The Mall.

The flower bed in front of The Pikeman has the ‘wow’ factor.

Wait til the judges go through the new entrance to the Town Park where they’ll see…

…the spectaular colours in the Rose garden.

“What do you think Mary, have we a chance of winning this thing?”      “No bother to us Thomas!”
