AFTER the success of last October’s event, Blennerville Resource Centre and the Mol Droichead Hub have organised a fun run/walk for this Sunday at the Town Park.

Blennerville Resource Centre, situated on Windmill Lane in Blennerville, supports adults with intellectual disabilities to work on self-development, volunteering opportunities, community work, or seeking connections for employment.

Since their last event in October, Mol Droichead Hub has moved to their own building across the road from Austin Stack Park Mol Droichead Hub supports school leavers with transitioning from secondary school.

This year they decided to change up the Fun Run, adding a second route.  All participants will now have the option to choose between a competitive 5km timed race or a relaxing 2km route.

This means that no matter your fitness levels or physical abilities everyone can come down to Tralee Town Park from 11am on Sunday, June 7.

There will be music, warm ups, and registrations from 11am-11:30am and the races will begin at 11:30am. Prices for the event vary depending on the route.

Adult participation will cost €10 for the 2km route and €15 for the 5km route; child participation will be €5 for the 2km route and €10 for the 5km route.

Registration is available by clicking here. You can also register on the day.

Their first Fun Run in October 2025 was a huge success, raising €2000. They used this money to hire an external drama teacher who supported them in writing, filming, and producing a silent, black & white, short film in a slapstick comedy fashion.

Their clients thoroughly enjoyed the process of making this film, whether they were involved in front of the camera or behind the scenes and the film will be premiered in August of this year.

All money fundraised will be going towards programmes similar to the drama programme, and organisers hope to hire different members of the local community to deliver a variety of Community Upskilling programmes.

Blennerville Resource Centre/Mol Droichead Hub would like to thank everyone who has supported them throughout the development of the fundraising committee and hope to see a big crowd on June 7th.
